Due to continued growth, we are expanding our marketing capability and are currently seeking a skilled Marketing & Content Specialist to join our Magherafelt-based team.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
As a Marketing & Content Specialist at Ionic IT, you will play a vital role in executing our marketing strategy and building the Ionic brand. You’ll work hands-on to create compelling content, manage digital campaigns, and bring our brand story to life across multiple channels. This is a doing role — you’ll be the person designing graphics, writing copy, managing social media, analysing campaign performance, and coordinating events. You’ll work closely with our technical teams and vendors to translate complex IT solutions into engaging marketing that resonates with our target audience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Marketing & Content Specialist, you will execute day-to-day marketing activities that build the Ionic brand and engage our target audience. Your duties will include:
- Creating engaging content for website, social media, email campaigns, blogs, and case studies
- Designing marketing materials including graphics, brochures, presentations, and digital ads
- Managing social media accounts and growing our online presence across LinkedIn and other platforms
- Planning and executing email marketing campaigns and tracking performance metrics
- Maintaining website content and ensuring brand consistency across all channels
- Producing video content from concept through filming, editing, and publishing
- Coordinating events, webinars, and exhibitions including logistics and promotional materials
- Analysing campaign performance using Google Analytics and social media insights
- Supporting vendor co-marketing initiatives and partnership activities
- Managing the marketing calendar and ensuring timely delivery of campaigns
- Collaborating with the technical team to translate IT services into clear, compelling messaging
TECHNICAL SKILLS & TOOLS
You’ll need hands-on experience with the following tools and platforms:
- Design & Content Creation: Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro), or equivalent tools
- Website & CMS: WordPress, basic HTML/CSS, and SEO fundamentals
- Email & Automation: HubSpot, Mailchimp, or similar marketing automation platforms
- Social Media Management: LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, plus scheduling tools like Hootsuite or Buffer
- Analytics & Reporting: Google Analytics, Google Search Console, social media insights
- Video Production: Video editing software such as Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or CapCut
- Photography: Camera operation and photo editing tools
- Microsoft 365: Word, PowerPoint, Excel for reports and presentations
- Advertising: Experience with Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads, or Facebook Ads Manager is beneficial
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with strong practical marketing skills, creative ability, and a proactive, hands-on approach. The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a hands-on marketing role, preferably within the B2B or technology sector
- Proven portfolio of marketing materials you’ve created (graphics, content, campaigns, videos)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into accessible content
- Strong visual design skills and a keen eye for detail
- Self-starter who can manage multiple projects simultaneously and work independently
- Comfortable working with technical teams and learning about IT services and solutions
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to attend events and client meetings when needed
- Relevant marketing qualifications (CIM, Digital Marketing Institute, or similar) are desirable
- Degree in Marketing, Communications, Design, or related field, or equivalent industry experience
