The Future of Remote Working

We know, everyone is talking about remote working right now, but this is more than a 2020 fad. With the many benefits employees and employers alike have experienced, this trend is here to stay.

The benefits for employees may seem obvious with savings on commuting, food and even childcare. But what’s in it for employers?

The Benefits Go Both Ways

According to a recent survey by PWC it was found that the majority of employees in Northern Ireland are more productive when remotely working. This flexible environment has also had a positive impact on employee satisfaction and, ultimately, their retention. So, employers can benefit from a more productive and happy work force. What’s not to love?

Now with employees getting a taste of remote working during lockdown it could mean employers may lose talent by not offering remote working as an option moving forward.

Is Remote Working Still Relevant?

While this may seem like a new phenomenon, remote working has steadily been on the increase. The number of UK workers who have moved into remote working has increased by nearly a quarter of a million over a decade according to the Office of National Statistics.

With the uncertainty of the environment we all operate in and the many benefits of remote working for everyone, it’s worth making sure you’re set up.
